Look carefully across the middle of this picture and you'll see the big group of Denver riders picking their way along the trail. Bikes were being handed up, down... Very cool terrain too.

We got within site of the bottom and still had to fight our way down. The trail (and I can't be sure we were still actually on the trail) cut across several slickrock bowls, down small ledges and overall didn't want to let us go. I finally lowered myself and the bike down and then spent a little time hollering directions and encouragement back up to the Denver Gang and another couple that came down just after.

Not home yet--the trail dumps out onto Kane Creek Road right at the base of a big, slow, hot climb. This is the climb just beyond the Amasa Back trailhead. I'd get to do it a second time two days later when we returned from Lockhart Basin.
