Doug took this fab landscape shot of (what I think is) the Wingate layer. While many rides, like the White Rim Trail, follow the top of the rim, Lockhart Basin runs along the base. The cliff wall is to your right almost the entire way and all the big views are out and to the left. The ride takes you through a number of different layers as you'll see in the following pictures. It's a rolling geology lesson.
